Jose Gonzalez, Resident Services Coordinator

Jose Gonzalez serves as the Resident Services Coordinator at Urban Village Apartments. His job involves outreach to diverse families, assisting them in reaching their life goals and in obtaining higher levels of self-sufficiency. Through leadership building, employment assistance, and educational enrichment, Mr. Gonzalez assists in empowering the families he serves.

In his most recent position, Mr. Gonzalez worked at as a Community Outreach Coordinator, empowering youth and residents in affordable housing in Montgomery County, MD.  During the 2008 economic recession, he worked with AmeriCorps VISTA, where he focused his efforts in building the organizational, administrative, financial capacity. Mr. Gonzalez launched grassroots efforts to fight for access to housing, improve health and resource services for families, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income families in accessing resources to gain sustainability and economic footing.  Mr. Gonzalez's background includes a master’s degree in project management, business development, workforce and community building training
Emily Button, Resident Services Manager
Emily Button serves as the Resident Services Manager for both Urban Village and Hubbard Place Apartments. Ms. Button oversees the resident services programming at both properties, outcomes management, and partnership development.

Ms. Button has worked in the affordable housing and homeless prevention field in the DC metro area for 11 years. Her experience includes managing Resident Services for multi family communities, working with chronically homeless and mentally ill populations, affordable housing property management, and leading community service programs focused on housing and services for homeless veterans. Ms. Button has a BA in Sociology from Louisiana State University and a Certificate of Nonprofit Leadership from the University of the District of Columbia.

Olivia Ngadjui,
After School and Youth Programs Specialist


Olivia Ngadjui serves as the Lead After School & Youth Development Specialist. She oversees both the summer camp and the after school programs. She also works with various partners such as DC Central Kitchen and YMCA to further enhance the after school and summer program experiences for students. She actively communicates and interfaces with parents and families to ensure that students are receiving the best care towards their education and overall development.

Ms. Ngadjui graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. In her most recent position, Ms. Ngadjui coordinated and supervised staff working in Everybody Wins! DC literacy program. She has experience teaching and tutoring  youth K-12 in a number of subjects and has had the opportunity to work with honor students from around the nation in leadership conferences. Ms. Ngadjui is working towards a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University.
